Manage fleet logistics, and related services for a small independent truck line brokering LTL and TL of bulk commodities. Manage operations, customer service, maintenance, sales, marketing, finance/accounting, human relations, and reporting.  Direct traffic by dispatching, quoting freight, preparing shipping documents, initiating freight claims, fleet invoices for payment. Oversee a broad range of drivers to include DOT regulatory affairs, licensing, and safety.  Monitored production and profits margins. 

 

Hire, train, supervise, coach and evaluate the performance of truck drivers. Identify the most efficient routes and arrange for ample staffing to meet the transportation needs of the business.  Design, provide and routinely assess driving, safety and other related training.  Maintain equipment and all aspects of reporting.

Professional Contract Driver/Fleet Manager

 

Responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials across various locations while adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations, as well as ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.  Verify load accuracy and ensure proper securement of cargo. 

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all applicable traffic laws and safety regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness. Report any mechanical issues or necessary repairs to the maintenance team. 

Route Planning and Navigation: Plan routes to meet delivery schedules. Use GPS systems and maps for efficient navigation. Adjust routes as necessary to avoid delays due to traffic, weather, or road conditions. 

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery records. Complete necessary paperwork for each delivery. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders.
